Joe Henderson Stuck in the Ole Brain Cells

I had a very weird revelation today thanks to one of my subscribers.  The new leadsheet that is available below might remind you of a tune that was done by Joe Henderson many years back.   This is very weird because I have not heard this tune probably in at least 20 years and I don't own the recording.  The funny thing that when I was writing it, I thought it was kind of cool, especially since I put the 3rd and the 4th together in the same chord.  So much for thinking I was coming up with something original!

The freekin intro and the melody are very similar!!!  The only thing I can think of is that this tune was somewhere deep inside a brain cell or two (the ones that have not been destroyed yet anyway).  When I started that little bass thing it must have triggered something somewhere in my head and brought back aspects of that tune.   I don't think the chords are the same though at the beginning but they are very similar no doubt, and the concept is pretty darn close.    So the official title will probably be Mamacita II or something along those lines.  

 

Oh, by the way, the coda sign should be at the end of the line.  I'll fix that when I get back home this weekend.
