Maynard Would be Proud

Ok.....I just stumbled (2 in the morning mind you) across this video that features some trumpet players from Japan (as far as I can tell) and I'm just wondering...what the hell are they doing over there to be able play like this!?  

Maynard would shit his pants if he heard this renidtion of Give it One.  From a nostalgic point of view, this is a tune that literally sealed my fate for wanting to become a jazz musician. I remember buying this album (yea, that's what we called them in the 70's) when I was in 5th grade.  It was after my dad (died suddenly in '87 - miss him like crazy) took me to see Maynard live. Soon after when browsing through a department store (Target of today) record bin and finding the MF 1 & 2 albums I discovered some Maynard records with this tune on it.  Man, who would have thought that over 30 years later trumpet players in other countries would be playing the shit out of this tune.   Take a listen and I'm sure you'll be as  blown away as I was.  Anyone want to let us know the name of this trumpet player?   Any input is appreciated.
